Real-life triplet baby registry must-haves, what you actually need (and what you don’t).
Finding out you’re expecting triplets can feel exciting, overwhelming, and honestly… a little bit unreal. When it comes time to build your triplet baby registry, the questions start piling up fast. Do you really need three of everything? What are the true must-have baby items for triplets? And how do you avoid wasting money on things you won’t actually use?
As a first-time mom expecting triplets, I remember feeling completely unsure of where to start with my triplet baby registry. Most baby registry advice is geared toward single babies, or even twins, and very little prepares you for the reality of preparing for triplets. The pressure to “get it right” can feel heavy, especially when you know you’ll need to be efficient, practical, and prepared from day one.
If you’re currently building your triplet baby registry checklist or searching for essential baby items for triplets, you’re in the right place. This isn’t a generic list; it’s real-life advice from a triplet mom who has been through it. I’m sharing the must-have products to add to your triplet baby registry that actually made everyday life easier (and what I wish I had done differently), so you can skip the overwhelm and feel more confident going into this season.
Convertible Cribs for Triplets
We registered for three cribs that convert to toddler beds. I have seen expecting triplets Moms ask if you need 3 cribs off that bat. At first, we had two babies in one crib, from 2 months to 5 months old and it worked as they were swaddled and didn’t move. Then the time came that they needed their own space. I would suggest registering/purchasing three. Even if you don’t use them right away, eventually they will need three separate places to sleep. Plus, it is great not to have to worry about having to purchase toddler beds later on. All you have to buy is the conversion pieces when the time comes.
We registered for the Delta Children Heartland 4-in-1 Convertible Crib – Greenguard Gold Certified, Bianca White, and the Serta Perfect Slumber Dual Sided Crib and Toddler Mattress for our triplet baby registry.
Carriage Systems for Triplets
Learn from my mistake, and purchase the Wonderfold Wagon immediately. This is going to be your best option for moving three babies at once. I didn’t register for it because it was on the pricey side, and I didn’t see an option for infant babies. We ended up going with a snap-and-go system for our carriers and then had a single stroller for the third child. This was very limiting for me. I always needed a second body to man the other stroller. I wish I had the Wonderfold sooner because I could have taken the babies for summer walks when they were smaller.
With the Wonderfold Wagon, if you swaddle your babies and place them in the bottom with blankets cushioning them they are safe. Once they can sit up, the 5-point harness system is safe enough to hold them, and then when they are older they can sit or stand in the wagon.
That being said, you are going to need a second carriage system that can handle one, two, or three babies. There will be instances when you are going to take one or two to doctor’s appointments or run errands, and someone is taking care of a sibling or two. From what I have seen, the Zoe Stroller is the best option for this. You can remove the third seat if you just want the double stroller feature and it is easy to maneuver. I did not go this route and deeply regret it.
Although I loved our Graco Ready2Grow 2.0 Double Stroller for its ease of use with two babies. Now it is just an extra piece of furniture sitting in the corner of our house.
Car Seats for Triplets
Before knowing anything about car seat systems, I registered for the Graco SnugRide 35 Lite LX Infant Car Seat. Don’t get me wrong, I really liked this model, and it fit three across in our 2020 Nissan Pathfinder and worked well with our snap-and-go stroller systems. However, had I known about the True3Fit™ LX 3-in-1 Car Seat, I would have registered for this upfront. Going off my golden rule of growing with the child, this car seat comes highly recommended by our friend and NICU Nurse who is a Child Passenger Safety Technician and was in charge of car seat training in the NICU. Their big selling point is that it fits 3 across in most cars. If you need car seat recommendations or car-buying advice, check out the @the_car_mom on Instagram.
Twin Z Pillow
The Twin Z Pillow was another item I didn’t purchase and ended up needing. Thank goodness for a local twin mom who gave me hers. I use my Twin Z pillow every single day. Especially now that the triplets can hold their own bottles. It is much easier to feed the babies at the same time. I simply use another Boppy for the third child. There are pillow options for 3, but I like the two because it makes storing it (under the crib) much easier. I line the pillows up, get the babies settled, and give them their bottles. This was a game-changer for me. Breastfeeding moms also can use this pillow, and it is great for tummy time as well.
High Chairs
Here is another regret that I want you to learn from. I registered for and received 3 of the Ingenuity SmartClean Trio Elite 3-in-1 High Chair, Toddler Chair & Booster Seat. I love that they go from a high chair to a toddler chair and then a booster seat. However, unless you plan on keeping this stationary, it is a pain to move, and I’m ALWAYS tripping over the legs. Our kitchen is not big enough to hold three so I store them in an adjacent room and need to move them back and forth with every feeding. I can attest the wheel locks work well but I’m constantly tripping over the legs that stand out.
If you need a space-saving option, I highly recommend the very affordable Ikea ANTILOP High Chair. It has a clean, sleek design and is stackable if you are tight on space.

Halo Swaddles
Our babies came home sleeping through the night, and I swear that the HALO Sleepsack Swaddles had something to do with it. Sent home with fleece HALO Sleepsacks from the NICU, our babies seemed so comfy and content in their fleece sleepsacks. Even better, you didn’t need to be an expert in baby burritos with the easy-to-use velcro flaps. These are a must on your triplet baby registry.
Sound Machine
Another NICU Nurse and Mom referral was the BEREST A13 White Noise Machine & Baby Sleep Soother. This sound machine has 15 different sounds, a projector with 4 different modes, and a cry sensor and timer. I set the sound machine on a 20-minute timer with the cry sensor on. If the baby wakes up at night and cries, the machine turns on again and soothes the baby to sleep. It is portable and rechargeable. I suggest keeping it plugged in so it doesn’t run out on you during the night.
One last tip: Utilize Amazon when setting up your triplet baby registry. Most baby registries don’t take into account triplet families. If you prefer to use a registry like Target or Walmart, you can add Amazon items to those registries.
There you have it, an honest triplet mom’s guide for what to register for your triplet baby registry. These items were game-changers for me, and I hope they make your life a little smoother as well.
